IDRC Rocky Mountain Nationals
Bandimere, CO September 24th
Team RX7.COM experiences Denver's first snow of the season.

Team RX7.COM set out on Friday morning for Colorado in order to have a full day of testing and tuning at the higher altitude on Saturday, one full day before the race. We were anxious to see how the car would perform at the higher altitude and lower temperatures. Team RX7.COM was excited about the Rocky Mountain Nationals for we would have a chance to once again race UPRD's 1994 Toyota Supra. We've looked forward to this reunion since the IDRC Lone Star Nationals on March 12 in Houston. As you may recall, at the Lone Star Nationals Ari beat UPRD's Supra (driven by Rhys Millen) with a 10.010 @ 142.63 mph.

Upon crossing the New Mexico/Colorado state line Friday evening, the temperature began to drop and by early Saturday morning the rain began to fall. By late Saturday afternoon, the rain turned into snow. Needless to say, Saturday's testing and tuning did not occur.Only time would tell whether or not Sunday's race would happen as scheduled. To pass the time, team RX7.COM took in the local sites that Denver had to offer.

On Sunday morning, the blanket of white snow made it evident that the weather didn't subside during the night. Some local forecasts reported as much as 4" had fallen. It wasn't long until we got the call that the race would be rescheduled for October 21. Disappointed that we wouldn't get to race, we packed up our gear, brushed the snow off of the truck, and began the journey home.
